Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US. She is a Greek-American writer, syndicated journalist and a businesswoman. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an author and philanthropist as well as a television host and the owner of the independent liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. Following her move to England from Greece at the age of 16 and obtaining an MA with Economics from Cambridge University. First foreign-born graduate to serve as president in the prestigious debate club The Cambridge Union, at 21 years old she took over the presidency. The success of her columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she completed her studies. When the Huffington Post was launched The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online platform for voice that gave critical opinions on the politics. She was able to get numerous prominent contributors to post their views on culture and politics. Arianna rose to fame in 2003 when she decided to contest as an independent candidate for the California recall election to replace the Governor Davis. She also headed an Detroit fuel-efficient car project. Forbes placed her at 12 on their list of the Top Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their list of the top 100 in 2010. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she was made president of the media company. This included many AOL products at the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. She was very close with her father. However, it was the relationship she had with her mother that has shaped her. She was a leader even in her early years. At the age of 16, she travelled to England to pursue her studies and was enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college, she joined the college debating Society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was conferred. In the years following her graduation, she became an editor of the critic's column and a television host. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was also noteworthy. She began to write books and enlisting his assistance in editing.
