Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek was born in Mexico and was born to Spanish-Lebanese parents. She was born into an affluent Roman Catholic family from Mexico. In her early years she felt compelled to become an actress after watching the movie 'Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.' It was her time to enter into the realm of film after attending Mexico City's 'Universidad Iberoamericana.' In the Mexican television show 'Teresa' she was the first to make her debut an actor. In Hollywood she was chosen to play Antonio Banderas's co-star on 'Desperado. It was followed by roles in the films 'Fools' Rush In"' and "Wild Wild West' and many more. In 'Once Upon an Time in Mexico the actress reprised the character of the character 'Desperado. The actress later established her own production company, Ventanarosa. Her first film was the Mexican "El Coronel No Teiene Quien Le Escriba.' It became Mexico's official submission to the Oscars for the 'Best Foreign Film. She was also the executive producer of 'Ugly Betty.' In her role as Sofia Reyes in 'Ugly Betty was nominated for 'Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series' at the 59th 'Primetime Emmy Awards.' Her endorsements include Revlon as well as Avon along with the hair, cosmetic and skin care products Nuance.
